IGCC -- WOW!

   IGCC (soon to go back to IGC) soared to close up 402% on Friday.
Closed at $.38 on Thursday closed at $1.91 on Friday. 
That second part was correct at the time they were delisted.
   They are going back to the NYSE on Tuesday, according to the announcement Thursday night.
   They left because they got delisted.
[IGCC] SUBSTANTIALLY DISCONTINUED THE BUSINESS THAT IT CONDUCTED AT THE TIME IT WAS LISTED OR ADMITTED TO TRADING, AND HAS BECOME ENGAGED IN VENTURES OR PROMOTIONS WHICH HAVE NOT DEVELOPED TO A COMMERCIAL STAGE OR THE SUCCESS OF WHICH IS PROBLEMATIC. 
   That second part BOLD was correct at the time they were delisted. 
The farm bill getting signed legalizing hemp production in the whole U.S. of A. changed that "the success of which is problematic" It means hemp can be grown. 
   That's why the stock is soaring. Seems like they've been working on getting the ventures ve the point of commercial success The news of the relisting. At least  the best I can figure out.

Just Let Me Say WOW!

   So if you've been reading the last few things I've written, you may have noticed I've kinda been interested in the stock market. 
   I've looked at different stocks. Not just the ones I've gotten through Robinhood, but I've also looked at some other stocks. Some of them that you can't even trade on Robinhood. 
   One of the ones I had looked at was interesting. In diversifying their business, they had moved away from their core business. That had made the stock exchange not happy. And they got delisted. So now they were only traded on the Over The Counter Market.
   They've been stuck around 38 cents per share for the past couple of months. They had appealed the decision and last night evidently the stock exchange had reversed their decision and an announcement was made that the would be relisted by Tuesday of next week. Evidently that's good news. REALLY good news.
   This morning the first trade was at 68 cents. Wow. Within 2 hours, it was over a dollar. Almost triple what it was at close the day before. 
   And it kept climbing and dropping all day. But mostly climbing. It went past $1.25.
$1.50. $1.75. 
   It went over $2. It got up to $2.14 before it dropped below $2 and wound up settling at the end of the day at $1.91. 
   Up 402% from the close of the previous day. 

   That's not a normal thing. But it happens. I saw another stock go up 50% in one day. 
   I don't think that'll ever happen to me. But, I can dream. Can't I?

An Open Letter to My Wife

Dear Yvette,
 In case I haven't told you in the last few hours, I Love You!
   I've loved you since before we even met. I just didn't realize it at the time, cause I wasn't real familiar with what love felt like. At least not the love I felt for you. 

   I'll admit, I haven't been the perfect husband. But you've always been the perfect wife for me. You frustrate me sometimes, like when you want me to change the cats litter 2 days after I just changed it. Oh, about that, did I ever mention I really don't like cats? 
   You've put up with my corny Valentine's Day presents in the past. Like the 18/24 Carrot Necklaces (TWICE). Assorted sizes of stuffed animals. A bouquet of a dozen WAX roses. Steak cut in the shape of a heart. You know, that kind of stuff.
   But this past year has REALLY made me realize how much you mean to me. Last year at this time, I had spent a couple of months getting you to and from doctor appointments and therapy treatments. We got you healed up and I got sick, and Jeremiah broke his arm. We met at the hospital in radiology that afternoon. Then we took him to get his arm set. 
   First child we had with a broken bone. But you handled it well. A lot better than i would have ever expected you to, to be completely honest. 2 days later we were on our way to Memphis for a needle biopsy. Then Union City for a PET scan. Then a surgical biopsy. And surgery. And Radiation. And Chemotherapy. And waiting. Waiting for the time to elapse until I could have a final PET scan. Rejoicing over getting the result.
   Cancer Free!
   This past year hasn't been great, but YOU have been fantastic! I'm so happy to be married to you. Hopefully next year I can give you another 14 Carrot necklace.

Let's Be Honest

   I wrote about doing this a while back. Planting some bulbs here. I like flowers. Always have, always will. Some people could become crazy cat people. I could become crazy flower person. Not in the house though. in the yard. I even have ribbons from back when I was a child and entered flowers in the Gibson County Fair.
   I planted them with the goal of seeing beautiful flowers blooming this spring. But honestly, I didn't know. I had dropped 60 pounds during the radiation and the chemotherapy, I was weak as a kitten. It took me several hours over 3 days to get the bulbs in the ground. I'd plant a few bulbs. Sit down.  Take a little rest.  I was sure I would be here. But I was waiting on the trip to the Doctor and the scan to say it for sure. The people on the Titanic were sure they were going to make it across the ocean. See how well that worked out for them.
   I've been watching the leaves of the flowers sticking up out of the ground for a while now.
   Then today, when I went to the mailbox to get the mail. I saw IT! I had a blossom from the bulbs I had planted. After I walked over and looked at it I turned to walk back towards the driveway and saw that on the other side, I had more!

    I'm going to have more blooms. The Crocus are beginning to arrive. This is their first year, so they're probably actually a little late.

Next year maybe they'll get their heads out of the ground and get their buds opened up before the flowers over at the old house get around to blooming. I'm not going to say it in front of the crocus but those daffodils were blooming a week ago.

  BTW, I think the groundhog may have been right. I would have to look but I think it was Feb 15th when they bloomed last year. This year February 5th. 
   I just want to say thank you, 2 people signed up using the link below so now I have 5 shares of stock with Robinhood. GRPN (which was on a rollercoaster yesterday and today ahead of its earnings report and which then took a dive in after hours trading after the report came out) ZNGA (which is up .15 since I got it). I was gifted another share of ZNGA when somebody else signed up which I sold and turned around and bought 3 shares of cheaper stocks that pay dividends. One of them is SDR. It cost $1.03. the next day was the ex-dividend date so I will get 4 cents of a dividend payment from it in a couple of weeks. I also bought 2 shares of another stock that will pay a dividend in 3 weeks. They're not great dividends, but if they keep paying, I'll be able to keep collecting.

I Know, More Reading

   I told Yvette on my birthday that I had a goal.

   My goal was just ridiculous. But hey, aren't goals supposed to be something you have to work towards. My goal?

  To own 100000 shares of stock. And it's not unattainable. There are such things as penny stocks.  

   100000 shares of stock at $0.01 would cost $1000.00.
   There was a slight drawback to that. I didn't have an account with any brokerage firm.  And I didn't have $1000 to buy the stock if I did have a brokerage account. But in between applying for jobs, I did some research. And that got a little disheartening.
   Some of the brokerage accounts, you need $10000 to open. Then I found others that you only had to have $2500 to open account. Another you had to have $1000.
   But you know, the computers are watching everything you do online. They keep track of the things you view, the things you search for, the websites you actually visit. And they respond by showing you ads that align with your interests. 
   One of the ads they showed me was Robinhood. So I looked into it. 
  Hmm...... I could get a free share of stock just for signing up. I didn't have to put money up to open an account. So I did. I got 1 share of stock. I didn't get a share of Apple (AAPL) or Ford (F) or Sprint (S). I got a share of Groupon (GRPN).

Natural Alternatives to Vaccination

   There are people who can't be vaccinated because of health issues or religious reasons. For everyone else......

   There ARE natural alternatives to Vaccination:

   Abstinence. If you don't have sex, you won't have a child that you can choose not to vaccinate.

   Abortion. Please don't choose this one. Much better would be.......

   Adoption. There are many people out there who would love to adopt a child AND have them vaccinated.

   Emigration. There are areas of the world where doctors are much more familiar with the diseases that we have vaccines to prevent.

   Insurance. The average funeral costs $8000, so at least $10000. Might consider having long term disability insurance in case the preventable disease just leaves then crippled instead of dead.

   Seriously, I remember people who had polio. I know people who have scars from being measles and chicken pox. Get those children vaccinated.
